This place was revolting.
In fact, revolting as a description didn’t come close to even skimming the surface of how monumentally disgusting this sector of the city appeared. Was it healthy for their to be so much smoke in the atmosphere? Surely it couldn’t be, but Elliot stopped himself from going any further with that particular train of thought before it blossomed into something rather worrying.
After a while of simply standing and hoping, praying to no avail for some kind of divine intervention to take place and whisk him away from this godforsaken vicinity, the blonde eventually came to the conclusion that perhaps it would be best to find his accommodation and rest a little before coming up with a plan of action.
Because he would absolutely not be staying in this place for long, that he was sure of.
He began to walk without much sense of any real direction, though soon came to a halt, realising that no matter how he looked at this situation, he had no idea where he was going in these unfamiliar streets and no amount of wishful thinking and stubbornness was going to help him find his way.
His pride prevented him from outright asking for direction from one of the locals, however, because that would be embarrassing and he could find his way perfectly well by himself, dammit, even if it meant he had to lie to himself.
With no way to move forward from this point, Elliot could do nothing but stand in this one spot hopelessly. Shifting his weight from foot to foot, he gazed around looking lost with a particularly irritated looking expression plastered across his face, secretly hoping in the back of his mind that someone might come to his aid in this sticky situation.
[ Just another day in the normal grind of things. Really, how long had he been here? Too long to be healthy, so many days passing that Inaba really felt like a faint memory. How awful was that?
Souji had gotten so wrapped up in the daily mundane that everything was really an annoyingly sick blur. He was used to working in the same old place doing the same old thing (but at least his cooking skills had evolved even more.) His complacency had gotten the best of him in a way; he was getting used to it, and that was the worst part.
There were some perks here and there, a silver lining in the gigantic mess that this hell hole was. It was a whole lot bigger to wander around than Inaba or the place he had just moved into after he left. He had gotten so un-used to cities that being stuffed back into one was near shell shock.
But there were some good things. Namely that park he had become fond of visiting. And it was for the little animals, of course.
Maybe one in particular.
He was carrying said feline in his arms, the same cat he visited every day. Souji already took a ginger tabby home because no one would notice, right? He didn`t take any more, since Cheshire was one more cat enough, really. The teenager was quite distracted by petting the little kitten that his eyes wandered over the streets. He was waiting to cross, so that gave him time to people watch.
One man in particular looked more out of place than the rest of them — maybe it was a hunch, but Souji usually followed those strange little hints about people. Not only did he look out of place just judging by that look on his face— his clothes were way out of style, too. Way too fancy for the city, in his opinion.
Souji picked up on weird hints indeed, but it was worth speaking up. ]
You look a bit lost. Are you okay?

It was too cold to be out… or at least, it was too cold to Minato’s liking. Because Iwatodai was a coastal city, the weather was warm and mild even during winter. Rarely had he ever had the chance to walk on snow and against the icy wind.
A change of atmosphere never hurt however. A white Christmas seemed more magical than the Christmas in the sun that he was more used to. Minato readjusted the long scarf around his neck and pulled it up higher. As beautiful as snow could be, it seemed to have the property of absorbing his energy. The boy walked slowly, kicking the random ice pieces he found at his feet. His attention drew away from the road ahead, he kept watching the sharp piece of ice dance from side to the side of the sidewalk with each kick that he gave.
Minato had traveled a considerable distance that way until his object of attention brushed past another passerby. It was only then that his head finally raised and…
“Ah—” He watched the person in front of him tossing snow balls at the trees, one after another. That silver headed boy looked just as busy as he was.
“Having fun there?”
[ Just one more snowball, then he`d see if he could actually make a proper fort. It had been ages since the last time Souji really tried to make one, and it came out looking more like a miniature wall of slush. He was going to throw the one in his hand before that voice stopped him right in his tracks. ]
…Yeah, I am actually.
[ Souji chuckled just a little, tossing the hunk of ice up and down, catching it in his palm and letting a little bit of powder fall each time. December wasn`t exactly fun the last time around, so he wanted to make this one count. Even if there wasn`t much to do, to say…there was still some comfort in idleness.
Comfort in the fact that everything precious to you was safe. For the most part, that is. ]
Hey Minato, I just remembered something.
[ One gloved hand met the other, packing the ice ball into a tighter mound, potentially better for impact. ]
I know I said sorry the other time, but I didn`t exactly say it very…eloquently, did I?
[ The boy smiled sheepishly, biting the inside of his lip for a second. He tossed the ball in the air one more time before letting it drop rather than catching it. Souji initially wanted to throw it at Minato, but an apology mixed with a snowball didn`t seem very earnest. ]
I really am sorry, by the way.
I said a lot of stupid things for no good reason.
You`ve probably forgotten for the most part, but I did want to be more honest about it, so…
[ Souji held a slightly frosty hand towards his fellow Wild Card. ]
We`re all even, then?

Cheshire very slowly approached the other before he just beckoned Souji to bend down to the chain's eye level. Said chain waited until Souji moved, idly flicking his tail back and forth before he rose himself to meet the persona user halfway, purring quietly as he planted a light peck on the other's lips in the tradition of this new year's! That was surely fine, wasn't it? Cheshire meowed as he pulled back, content with his actions, a tender smile taken on his cat lips.
[ Souji was simply going about his usual preparations regarding the new year before he heard the feline`s call for him. The persona user did as he was told and leaned down to level his gaze, as he was told. He expected maybe to hear a secret or something to that effect, but he was surprised by a slight peck on the mouth. ]
Uhm…Cheshire— what was that for?
[ Why did the cat look so satisfied? What kind of goal did he have in mind? ]

[ The snow had finally settled. A nice swirl of flakes fluttering to the ground had finished off the literal globs of snow that the persona user had witnessed in the streets. It was like the icing on the cake, powder covering the minimal foliage and caking the ice chunks that littered the sidewalk.
It was the perfect weather for some good old holiday activities!
A lot of people would probably want to stay inside with weather like this, maybe snuggle up with some hot chocolate and someone they had come to know, but Souji was in the mood to get up and out. He`d been staying still for far too long, so lumpen and warm inside, busying himself with holiday baking and whatnot.
Everyone deserved a little break. Not to mention the sudden rush of cold air filling his lungs gave him this odd surge, a sudden realization of fresh air and actual life that existed beyond the stuff gray walls of his apartment.
Gloved hands were dusted in white flecks of sky as Souji idly balled up some of it, a force of habit that had followed him since childhood.
He tossed the icy ball at a nearby tree. If only there was someone to build a snow fort or something with. Maybe even snow angels!
It had been so long since he`d done those sort of activities. The memories of his own little city gave him a nice wave of warmth right down to his toes. ]
Wow, my fingers are already freezing.

“Um…”
From the moment she walked through the door, Misia found herself… in open air. That was as much as she could tell. The young prophet was without eyesight and the time that she belonged to was over a millennium ago.
Navigating on the Island of Lesbos where she was sheltered for the greater part of her life was no difficult, but now in Hive city, Misia was stranding on a world of black void. With both of her hands raised in front of her, she did what she could to stay safe. Being able to walk a short distance steadily added to her confidence and so, she dared to advance more boldly. The small steps widened and widened until suddenly…
BUMP !!
“Ow!” The impact on some solid object pushed her back by a few steps. Helplessly, she rubbed her damaged forehead. So much for pushing her luck… Now, moving her hands back in front of her, she walked forward once more and, this time, made sure to properly catch the rock hard structure that attacked her.
“A column of steel?”
To a normal by-passer’s eyes, the girl was intensely feeling a traffic light pole…
[ Why did the persona user cross the road?
It seemed like the light would never turn green. As Souji waited to cross the street, he reflected on his current life in the Hive. Boring and calm, ever the usual sort of life in the city. He didn`t live in a particularly dicey sector, never usually ran into trouble, and apart from entertaining himself with that MMO, not really much to do.
Oh yes, there was the cooking job, in which he could actually mix things up a little, but it was more than a little tiresome these days. It was December, so he deserved a good break, right? These thoughts fluttered about in his head until he heard a loud thunk of something running into the pole he was standing by. ]
I guess you and the traffic light are good friends, eh?
[ Souji laughed a little and looked at the girl, slightly amused by her fascination with the steel. Something was a bit off, though. People didn`t feel around like that unless they wouldn`t see. And, as far as he knew, the girl`s eyes were wide open.
Could it be that—? ]
Oh, more importantly, are you okay? That must have been a nasty bump to the head there.
[ Perhaps she was new as well. That would explain the wandering look about her. Blind as she may have been, her eyes were still quite dazzling. ]

Do you think Souji has a least favorite type of cat?
ahh I think the boy loves all cats!
confession time his obsession probably is half ME putting myself in Souji and half the headcanon (now canon) that all the fandom has that Souji just fucking loves aLL CATS HE WANTS ALL THE KITTIES
but in short: no
unless the cat starts trying to tear out his throat
bless his soul, even then he`d probably try to calm it down since the boy has the patience of a saint!!
